I went to the UK attraction named the best in the WORLD — and it's had a £3m upgrade

For The Sun, Tracey boarded the Royal Yacht Britannia in Leith — just named Tripadvisor's world's best attraction — and toured all five decks: Her Majesty's office, the piano bolted to the drawing-room floor, and the single beds she and Prince Philip actually slept in.

For The Sun, Tracey graced the red-carpeted gangplank of the Royal Yacht Britannia — 44 years of royal service, a million nautical miles, 968 state visits, and (as of 2026) Tripadvisor's world's best attraction. She took the audio tour across all five decks: Her Majesty's Office, the Sun Room (the Queen's favourite spot, with rum tub), Prince Philip's painting Veranda, the State Drawing Room where a Welmar baby grand is bolted to the floor (Diana played it, so did Noel Coward), and the modest adjoining single-bedded state apartments — the only double was installed for Charles's first honeymoon. Tickets £25 adults / £12.50 kids; London to Leith from £41.40 each way.
