After studying design and communications at university in Southampton, I did what every graduate of my era did, I went backpacking. For three long, fantastic years.
Before deciding to write for a living I dabbled in sales, pulled a mean pint of IPA and dressed London's doggies with a foray into canine couture. I also set up a Friends Reunited wannabe site called PlanetReunited.com with the brazen aim to reunite backpackers from around the world. Great idea, bad timing. But through this and my ongoing travels, I picked up some great contacts one of which gave me a huge stepping stone into the world of travel writing. And here I am, many years and three kids later and still with the best job in the world.
